Palliative Care

The end-of-life care of someone with an advanced progressive illness will include palliative care. If someone has been diagnosed with an illness that can’t be cured then palliative care is to ensure that they are kept as comfortable as possible and are able to die with dignity. This includes pain management and more supportive care as well as providing support for the family and careers to help them cope with their own bereavement. Palliative care should provide the best quality of life for patients and their families.
